When Zacchaeus climbed the sycamore tree in the Gospel of Luke, he was not up there because he had a need.

He just wanted to see Jesus.

As a tax collector building his wealth through corrupt means, Zacchaeus was despised as a traitor and a sinner in the Jewish community.

And, if Jesus did not volunteer to help Zacchaeus would probably continue his life of ignorance and sin.

Fortunately, Jesus decided that it was the last day Zacchaeus was going to continue being called a man of ill repute.  Jesus invited himself to Zacchaeus’ house, despite the threat from the angry, judgemental crowd.

That day Zacchaeus’ life was transformed.
