ആദ്യമായി ഒരു ആദിവാസി യുവതി കൊമേഴ്‌സ്യല്‍ പൈലറ്റായി ചരിത്രമെഴുതി. മാവോയിസ്റ്റ് ബാധിതരായ ഒഡീഷയിലെ മല്‍കാംഗിരി ജില്ലയില്‍ നിന്ന് 27കാരി അനുപ്രിയ മധുമിത ലക്രയാണ് ഈ നേട്ടം കരസ്ഥമാക്കിയത്.
ആദ്യമായി ഒരു ആദിവാസി യുവതി കൊമേഴ്‌സ്യല്‍ പൈലറ്റായി ചരിത്രമെഴുതി. മാവോയിസ്റ്റ് ബാധിതരായ ഒഡീഷയിലെ മല്‍കാംഗിരി ജില്ലയില്‍ നിന്ന് 27കാരി അനുപ്രിയ മധുമിത ലക്രയാണ് ഈ നേട്ടം കരസ്ഥമാക്കിയത്. ഇന്‍ഡിഗോ എയര്‍ലൈന്‍സിന്റെ കോ പൈലറ്റായാണ് അനുപ്രിയ ചേര്‍ന്നത്. മല്‍കാംഗിരി ജില്ലയിലെ പോലിസ് കോണ്‍സ്റ്റബിള്‍ മരിനിയാസ് ലാര്‍കയുടെയും ജിമാജ് യാഷ്മിന്‍ ലാക്രയുടെയും മകളാണ് അനുപ്രിയ.
കുടുംബത്തിനു മാത്രമല്ല സംസ്ഥാനത്തിനും അഭിമാനമാണ് അനുപ്രിയയുടെ നേട്ടമെന്ന് മാതാപിതാക്കള്‍ പറയുന്നു. പൈലറ്റ് പരിശീലനത്തിന് മകളെ അയയ്ക്കാന്‍ പലപ്പോഴും സാമ്പത്തികബുദ്ധിമുട്ട് നേരിട്ടതായി പിതാവ് പറഞ്ഞു. ലോണെടുത്തും ബന്ധുക്കളില്‍ നിന്ന് സഹായം സ്വീകരിച്ചുമായിരുന്നു അനുപ്രിയയെ പഠിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നതെന്ന് പിതാവ് കൂട്ടിച്ചേര്‍ത്തു.
അവള്‍ സ്വപ്‌നം കണ്ടത് യാഥാര്‍ഥ്യമാക്കാന്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞതില്‍ സന്തോഷമുണ്ട്. എല്ലാ പെണ്‍കുട്ടികള്‍ക്കും പ്രചോദനമാകാന്‍ അനുപ്രിയ കാരണമാവട്ടെയെന്ന് ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു. പെണ്‍കുട്ടികളെ പിന്തുണയ്ക്കാന്‍ എല്ലാ മാതാപിതാക്കളോടും ആവശ്യപ്പെടുകയാണെന്നും ജിമാജ് യാഷ്മിന്‍ ലാക്ര പറഞ്ഞു.
മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി നവീന്‍ പട്‌നായിക് അനുപ്രിയയെ അഭിനന്ദിച്ചു രംഗത്തെത്തി. ഏഴ് വര്‍ഷം മുന്‍പാണ് എഞ്ചിനീയറിംഗ് പഠനം പാതിവഴിയില്‍ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് അനുപക എവിയേഷന്‍ അക്കാദമിയില്‍ ചേര്‍ന്നത്.

A 23-year-old tribal woman from Odisha’s Maoist-hit Malkangiri district has become the first female pilot from the backward region to fly the commercial plane.
Anupriya Lakra who left engineering studies in Bhubaneswar midway to join an aviation academy here in 2012, is all set to join a private airline as a co-pilot.
The woman from the tribal-dominated district has also earned the praise of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik who congratulated Lakra for the rare feat achieved through dedicated efforts. He also said that her achievement will set an example for others to emulate.
“I am happy to learn about the success of Anupriya Lakra. The success achieved by her through dedicated efforts and perseverance is an example for many,” Patnaik tweeted, wishing Anupriya more achievements.
Lakra completed her matriculation from a convent in Malkangiri and higher secondary from a school in Semiliguda. Her father, Mariniyas Lakra is a Havildar in Odisha Police and mother Jamaj Yashmin Lakra is a homemaker.
Lakra’s father said that she quit her engineering studies in Bhubaneswar mid-way with a dream of becoming a pilot and subsequently started preparation for the pilot entrance test in Bhubaneswar.
She joined the Pilot Training Institute in Bhubaneswar in 2012, he said.
“We are very happy that her dream of becoming a pilot has now become a reality. She will be working as a co-pilot in a private airline,” Mariniyas was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
“It is a big achievement for somebody from a backward district like Malkangiri. Her success has come after seven years of hard work,” he said.
Lakra, who has been selected as a co-pilot in a private airline, is likely to fly abroad shortly.
Elated over her daughter’s success, her mother said, “I am very happy. It is a matter of pride for the people of Malkangiri. Her success will inspire other girls.”
The 23-year-old was always encouraged to make efforts to turn her dreams into reality, her mother said.
