Beginning with his homily on Good Shepherd Sunday, +Jerome has given extensive teaching concerning the imagery and concept of the Good Shepherd and its practical realisation in the lives of 21C Christians.

We must not doubt that God in His mercy has allocated to each one a task that is to be completed in this world. The same applies to the religious life, and if God chooses someone for this way of life He may include some early signs of this vocation. These signs can manifest themselves not only by good conduct, or some special talents, but mainly by an attraction towards spiritual exercises, by great modesty, tenderness of conscience, deference to colleagues, etc. If these characteristics, instead of developing over time, begin to slowly fade or even disappear completely, that must be attributed to negative external influences or the negligence of the people assigned to educate the boy… If a boy, as often happens in our day, lived some time in an unfavorable environment, it is quite a different matter, especially when at the age of twelve or thirteen he begins…

OPENING STATEMENT by Robert

In our world today, if one worships our Father in heaven with all your heart, soul, and strength, in the eyes and minds of the worldly you become a contagion, someone to be avoided. I ponder why? I wonder what it is or how we are to believe and worship as I know no other way.

I find it quite intriguing when an individual is seeking assistance and when you begin to reply and bring forward information that is scripturally sound, but contrary to the individual’s current beliefs and thought process. They either become busy or suddenly have an important meeting, or simply state they don’t believe that deeply or find it hard to believe that way.
