കൈത്താക്കാലം ഒന്നാം ഞായർ
പന്ത്രണ്ട് ശ്ലീഹന്മാരുടെ തിരുന്നാൾ
🌷ഒന്നാം വായന 🌷
1 രാജാ 18 : 30-39
രാജാക്കന്‍മാരുടെ ഒന്നാം പുസ്തകത്തിൽ നിന്നുള്ള വായന
അപ്പോള്‍, ഏലിയാ ജനത്തോടു പറഞ്ഞു: അടുത്തുവരുവിന്‍: എല്ലാവരും ചെന്നു. കര്‍ത്താവിന്റെ തകര്‍ന്നുകിടന്നിരുന്ന ബലിപീഠം അവന്‍ കേടുപോക്കി.
നിന്റെ നാമം ഇസ്രായേല്‍ എന്നായിരിക്കും എന്നു കര്‍ത്താവ്‌ ആരോട്‌ അരുളിച്ചെയ്‌തുവോ ആ യാക്കോബിന്റെ പുത്രന്‍മാരുടെ ഗോത്രസംഖ്യയനുസരിച്ച്‌ അവന്‍ പന്ത്രണ്ട് കല്ലെടുത്തു.
ആ കല്ലുകള്‍കൊണ്ട്‌ അവന്‍ കര്‍ത്താവിന്‌ ഒരു ബലിപീഠം നിര്‍മിച്ചു. അതിനുചുറ്റും രണ്ട്‌ അളവു വിത്തുകൊള്ളുന്ന ഒരു ചാലുണ്ടാക്കി.
അവന്‍ വിറക്‌ അടുക്കി കാളയെ കഷണങ്ങളാക്കി അതിന്‍മേല്‍ വച്ചു. അവന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു: നാലുകുടം വെള്ളം ദഹനബലിവസ്‌തുവിലും വിറകിലും ഒഴിക്കുവിന്‍.
അവന്‍ തുടര്‍ന്നു: വീണ്ടും അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുവിന്‍;
അവര്‍ ചെയ്‌തു. അവന്‍ വീണ്ടും പറഞ്ഞു: മൂന്നാം പ്രാവശ്യവും അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുവിന്‍. അവര്‍ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്‌തു.
ബലിപീഠത്തിനു ചുറ്റും വെള്ളമൊഴുകി ചാലില്‍ വെള്ളം നിറഞ്ഞു.
ദഹനബലിയുടെ സമയമായപ്പോള്‍ ഏലിയാപ്രവാചകന്‍ അടുത്തുവന്നു പ്രാര്‍ഥിച്ചു: അബ്രാഹത്തിന്റെയും ഇസഹാക്കിന്റെയും ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെയും ദൈവമായ കര്‍ത്താവേ, അങ്ങ്‌ ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമാണെന്നും, ഞാന്‍ അങ്ങയുടെ ദാസനാണെന്നും, അങ്ങയുടെ കല്‍പനയനുസരിച്ചാണു ഞാന്‍ ഇതു ചെയ്‌തതെന്നും അങ്ങ്‌ ഇന്നു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തണമേ!
കര്‍ത്താവേ, എന്റെ പ്രാര്‍ഥന കേള്‍ക്കണമേ! അങ്ങ്‌ മാത്രമാണു ദൈവമെന്നും അങ്ങ്‌ ഇവരുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങളെ തിരിച്ചുവിളിക്കുന്നെന്നും അവര്‍ അറിയുന്നതിന്‌ എന്റെ പ്രാര്‍ഥന കേള്‍ക്കണമേ!
ഉടനെ കര്‍ത്താവില്‍ നിന്ന്‌ അഗ്‌നി ഇറങ്ങി ബലിവസ്‌തുവും വിറകും കല്ലും മണ്ണും ദഹിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചാലിലെ വെള്ളം വറ്റിക്കുകയും ചെയ്‌തു.
ഇതു കണ്ടു ജനം സാഷ്‌ടാംഗം വീണ്‌ വിളിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു: കര്‍ത്താവുതന്നെ ദൈവം! കര്‍ത്താവുതന്നെ ദൈവം!

നടപടി 5 : 12-20
ശ്ലീഹാന്മാരുടെ നടപടി പുസ്തകത്തിൽ നിന്നുള്ള വായന
ശ്ലീഹാന്മാരുടെ കരങ്ങള്‍വഴി ജനമധ്യത്തില്‍ വളരെ അടയാളങ്ങളും അദ്‌ഭുതങ്ങളും സംഭവിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു. അവര്‍ ഏകമനസ്‌സോടെ സോളമന്റെ മണ്‍ഡ പത്തില്‍ ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടുക പതിവായിരുന്നു.
മറ്റുള്ളവരില്‍ ആരുംതന്നെ അവരോടുചേരാന്‍ ധൈര്യപ്പെട്ടില്ല. എന്നാല്‍, ജനം അവരെ ബഹുമാനിച്ചുപോന്നു.
കര്‍ത്താവില്‍ വിശ്വസിച്ച പുരുഷന്‍മാരുടെയും സ്‌ത്രീകളുടെയും സംഖ്യ വര്‍ധിച്ചുകൊണ്ടേയിരുന്നു.
അവര്‍ രോഗികളെ തെരുവീഥികളില്‍കൊണ്ടുവന്ന്‌ കിടക്കകളിലും കട്ടിലുകളിലും കിടത്തിയിരുന്നു. പത്രോസ്‌ കടന്നുപോകു മ്പോള്‍ അവന്റെ നിഴലെങ്കിലും അവരില്‍ ഏതാനും പേരുടെമേല്‍ പതിക്കുന്നതിനുവേണ്ടിയായിരുന്നു അത്‌.
അശുദ്‌ധാത്‌മാക്കള്‍ ബാധിച്ചിരുന്നവരെയും രോഗികളെയും വഹിച്ചുകൊണ്ട്‌ ജനം ജറുസലെമിനു ചു റ്റുമുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നു വന്നിരുന്നു. എല്ലാവര്‍ക്കും രോഗശാന്തി ലഭിച്ചു.
എന്നാല്‍, പ്രധാനപുരോഹിതനും അവനോടു ചേര്‍ന്നുനിന്നിരുന്ന സദുക്കായവിഭാഗവും അസൂയ നിറഞ്ഞ്‌
ശ്ലീഹാന്മാരെ പിടിച്ച്‌ ബന്‌ധിച്ച്‌ പൊതുകാരാഗൃഹത്തിലടച്ചു.
രാത്രി കര്‍ത്താവിന്റെ ദൂതന്‍ കാരാഗൃഹവാതിലുകള്‍ തുറന്ന്‌ അവരെ പുറത്തുകൊണ്ടുവന്ന്‌ അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു:
നിങ്ങള്‍ ദേവാലയത്തില്‍ ചെന്ന്‌ എല്ലാ ജനങ്ങളോടും നവജീവന്റെ ഈ വചനം പ്രസംഗിക്കുവിന്‍.

വിശുദ്ധ പൗലോസ് ശ്ലീഹാ കോറിന്തോസുകാർക്ക് എഴുതിയ ഒന്നാം ലേഖനത്തിൽ നിന്നുള്ള വായന
തന്റെ പുത്രനും നമ്മുടെ കര്‍ത്താവുമായ ഈശോ മിശിഹായുടെ സഹവാസത്തിലേക്കു നിങ്ങളെ വിളിച്ച ദൈവം വിശ്വസ്‌തനാണ്‌.
സഹോദരരേ, നിങ്ങള്‍ എല്ലാവരും സ്വരച്ചേര്‍ച്ചയോടും ഐക്യത്തോടും ഏകമനസ്‌സോടും ഏകാഭിപ്രായത്തോടുംകൂടെ വര്‍ത്തിക്കണമെന്നു നമ്മുടെ കര്‍ത്താവായ ഈശോ മിശിഹായുടെ നാമത്തില്‍ ഞാന്‍ നിങ്ങളോട്‌ അഭ്യര്‍ഥിക്കുന്നു.
എന്റെ സഹോദരരേ, നിങ്ങളുടെയിടയില്‍ തര്‍ക്കങ്ങള്‍ ഉണ്ടെന്നു ക്‌ളോയെയുടെ ബന്‌ധുക്കള്‍ എന്നെ അറിയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
ഞാന്‍ പൗലോസിന്റേതാണ്‌, ഞാന്‍ അപ്പോളോസിന്റേതാണ്‌, ഞാന്‍ കേപ്പായുടേതാണ്‌, ഞാന്‍ മിശിഹായുടേതാണ്‌ എന്നിങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങളോരോരുത്തരും പറയുന്നതിനെയാണ്‌ ഞാന്‍ ഉദ്‌ദേശിക്കുന്നത്‌.
മിശിഹാ വിഭജിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നുവോ? നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കുവേണ്ടി ക്രൂശിതനായതു പൗലോസാണോ? പൗലോസിന്റെ നാമത്തിലാണോ നിങ്ങള്‍ മാമ്മോദീസ സ്വീകരിച്ചത്‌?
ക്രിസ്‌പോസിനെയും ഗായൂസിനെയുമല്ലാതെ നിങ്ങളില്‍ മറ്റാരെയും ഞാന്‍ ജ്‌ഞാനസ്‌നാനപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടില്ല എന്നതില്‍ ദൈവത്തിനു നന്‌ദി പറയുന്നു.
അതുകൊണ്ട്‌, എന്റെ നാമത്തില്‍ സ്‌നാനം സ്വീകരിച്ചു എന്നു പറയാന്‍ നിങ്ങളിലാര്‍ക്കും സാധിക്കുകയില്ല.
സ്‌തേഫാനോസിന്റെ കുടുംബത്തെക്കൂടി ഞാന്‍ സ്‌നാനപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്‌. അതല്ലാതെ മറ്റാരെയെങ്കിലും ഞാന്‍ സ്‌നാനപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ടോ എന്ന്‌ അറിഞ്ഞുകൂടാ.

ലൂക്കാ 14 : 7-14
വിശുദ്ധ ലൂക്കാ അറിയിച്ച നമ്മുടെ കർത്താവീശോമിശിഹായുടെ പരിശുദ്ധ സുവിശേഷം
ക്‌ഷണിക്കപ്പെട്ടവര്‍ പ്രമുഖസ്‌ഥാനങ്ങള്‍ തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടപ്പോള്‍ അവന്‍ അവരോട്‌ ഒരു ഉപമ പറഞ്ഞു:
ആരെങ്കിലും നിന്നെ ഒരു കല്യാണവിരുന്നിനു ക്‌ഷണിച്ചാല്‍, പ്രമുഖസ്‌ഥാനത്തു കയറിയിരിക്കരുത്‌. ഒരുപക്‌ഷേ, നിന്നെക്കാള്‍ ബഹുമാന്യനായ ഒരാളെ അവന്‍ ക്‌ഷണിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടായിരിക്കും.
നിങ്ങളെ രണ്ടുപേരെയും ക്‌ഷണിച്ചവന്‍ വന്ന്‌, ഇവനു സ്‌ഥലം കൊടുക്കുക എന്നു നിന്നോടു പറയും. അപ്പോള്‍ നീ ലജ്‌ജിച്ച്‌, അവസാനത്തെ സ്‌ഥാനത്തുപോയി ഇരിക്കും.
അതുകൊണ്ട്‌, നീ വിരുന്നിനു ക്‌ഷണിക്കപ്പെടുമ്പോള്‍ അവസാനത്തെ സ്‌ഥാനത്തുപോയി ഇരിക്കുക. ആതിഥേയന്‍ വന്നു നിന്നോട്‌, സ്‌നേഹിതാ, മുമ്പോട്ടു കയറിയിരിക്കുക എന്നുപറയും. അപ്പോള്‍ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഭക്‌ഷണത്തിനിരിക്കുന്ന സകലരുടെയും മുമ്പാകെ നിനക്കു മഹത്വമുണ്ടാകും.
തന്നെത്തന്നെ ഉയര്‍ത്തുന്നവന്‍ താഴ്‌ത്തപ്പെടും; തന്നെത്തന്നെതാഴ്‌ത്തുന്നവന്‍ ഉയര്‍ത്തപ്പെടും.
തന്നെ ക്‌ഷണിച്ചവനോടും അവന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു: നീ ഒരു സദ്യയോ അത്താഴവിരുന്നോ കൊടുക്കുമ്പോള്‍ നിന്റെ സ്‌നേഹിതരെയോ സഹോദരരെയോ ബന്‌ധുക്കളെയോ ധനികരായ അയല്‍ക്കാരെയോ വിളിക്കരുത്‌. ഒരു പക്‌ഷേ, അവര്‍ നിന്നെ പകരം ക്‌ഷണിക്കുകയും അതു നിനക്കു പ്രതിഫലമാവുകയും ചെയ്യും.
എന്നാല്‍, നീ സദ്യ നടത്തുമ്പോള്‍ ദരിദ്രര്‍, വികലാംഗര്‍, മുടന്തര്‍, കുരുടര്‍ എന്നിവരെ ക്‌ഷണിക്കുക.
അപ്പോള്‍ നീ ഭാഗ്യവാനായിരിക്കും; എന്തെന്നാല്‍, പകരം നല്‍കാന്‍ അവരുടെ പക്കല്‍ ഒന്നുമില്ല. നീതിമാന്‍മാരുടെ പുനരുത്‌ഥാനത്തില്‍ നിനക്കു പ്രതിഫലം ലഭിക്കും.

1 Kg 18 : 30-39
A Reading from the Second Book of Kings
Then Elijah said to all the people, “Come here to me.” When they drew near to him, he repaired the altar of the LORD which had been destroyed.
He took twelve stones, for the number of tribes of the sons of Jacob, to whom the LORD had said: Israel shall be your name.
He built the stones into an altar to the name of the LORD, and made a trench around the altar large enough for two measures of grain.
When he had arranged the wood, he cut up the young bull and laid it on the wood.
He said, “Fill four jars with water and pour it over the burnt offering and over the wood.” “Do it again,” he said, and they did it again. “Do it a third time,” he said, and they did it a third time.
The water flowed around the altar; even the trench was filled with the water.
At the time for offering sacrifice, Elijah the prophet came forward and said, “LORD, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command.
Answer me, LORD! Answer me, that this people may know that you, LORD, are God and that you have turned their hearts back to you.”
The LORD’s fire came down and devoured the burnt offering, wood, stones, and dust, and lapped up the water in the trench.
Seeing this, all the people fell prostrate and said, “The LORD is God! The LORD is God!”

Acts 5,12-20
A Reading from the Acts of the Apostles
Many signs and wonders were done among the people at the hands of the apostles. They were all together in Solomon’s portico.
None of the others dared to join them, but the people esteemed them.
Yet more than ever, believers in the Lord, great numbers of men and women, were added to them.
Thus they even carried the sick out into the streets and laid them on cots and mats so that when Peter came by, at least his shadow might fall on one or another of them.
A large number of people from the towns in the vicinity of Jerusalem also gathered, bringing the sick and those disturbed by unclean spirits, and they were all cured.
Then the high priest rose up and all his companions, that is, the party of the Sadducees, and, filled with jealousy,
laid hands upon the apostles and put them in the public jail.
But during the night, the angel of the Lord opened the doors of the prison, led them out, and said,
“Go and take your place in the temple area, and tell the people everything about this life.”

God is faithful, and by him you were called to fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
I urge you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree in what you say, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and in the same purpose.
For it has been reported to me about you, my brothers, by Chloe’s people, that there are rivalries among you.
I mean that each of you is saying, “I belong to Paul,” or “I belong to Apollos,” or “I belong to Cephas,” or “I belong to Christ.”
Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?
I give thanks [to God] that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius, so that no one can say you were baptized in my name.
(I baptized the household of Stephanas also; beyond that I do not know whether I baptized anyone else.)

The Holy Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, proclaimed by St. Luke
He told a parable to those who had been invited, noticing how they were choosing the places of honor at the table.
“When you are invited by someone to a wedding banquet, do not recline at table in the place of honor. A more distinguished guest than you may have been invited by him,
and the host who invited both of you may approach you and say, ‘Give your place to this man,’ and then you would proceed with embarrassment to take the lowest place.
Rather, when you are invited, go and take the lowest place so that when the host comes to you he may say, ‘My friend, move up to a higher position.’ Then you will enjoy the esteem of your companions at the table.
For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”
Then he said to the host who invited him, “When you hold a lunch or a dinner, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or your wealthy neighbors, in case they may invite you back and you have repayment.
Rather, when you hold a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind;
blessed indeed will you be because of their inability to repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”
