ലേവ്യ 4 : 13-21
ലേവ്യരുടെ പുസ്തകത്തിൽ നിന്നുള്ള വായന
ഇസ്രായേല്‍സമൂഹം മുഴുവന്‍ അറിവില്ലായ്‌മ മൂലം പാപം ചെയ്യുകയും കര്‍ത്താവു വിലക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നതില്‍ ഏതെങ്കിലുമൊന്നു ചെയ്‌തു കുറ്റക്കാരാകുകയും അക്കാര്യം അവരുടെ ശ്രദ്‌ധയില്‍ പെടാതിരിക്കുകയുംചെയ്യുന്നുവെന്നിരിക്കട്ടെ; എന്നാല്‍, തങ്ങളുടെ പാപത്തെക്കുറിച്ചറിയുമ്പോള്‍ പാപപരിഹാരബലിക്കായി സമൂഹം മുഴുവന്‍ ഒരു കാളക്കുട്ടിയെ കാഴ്‌ചവയ്‌ക്കുകയും അതിനെ സമാഗമകൂടാരത്തിന്റെ വാതില്‍ക്കല്‍കൊണ്ടുവരുകയും വേണം. സമൂഹത്തിലെ ശ്രേഷ്‌ഠന്‍മാര്‍ കര്‍ത്താവിന്റെ സന്നിധിയില്‍വച്ച്‌ കാളക്കുട്ടിയുടെ തലയില്‍ കൈകള്‍ വയ്‌ക്കണം; അതിനെ അവിടുത്തെ മുന്‍പില്‍വച്ചു കൊല്ലണം.
അഭിഷിക്‌തനായ പുരോഹിതന്‍ കാളക്കുട്ടിയുടെ കുറെരക്‌തം സമാഗമകൂടാരത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവരണം. അവന്‍ രക്‌തത്തില്‍ വിരല്‍ മുക്കി കര്‍ത്താവിന്റെ സന്നിധിയില്‍ തിരശ്‌ശീലയ്‌ക്കു മുന്‍പില്‍ ഏഴു പ്രാവശ്യം തളിക്കണം. കുറെ രക്‌തമെടുത്ത്‌ സമാഗമകൂടാരത്തില്‍ കര്‍ത്താവിന്റെ സന്നിധിയിലുള്ള ബലിപീഠത്തിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളില്‍ പുരട്ടണം. ബാക്കി രക്‌തം സമാഗമകൂടാരത്തിന്റെ വാതില്‍ക്കലുള്ള ദഹനബലിപീഠത്തിന്റെ ചുവ ട്ടില്‍ ഒഴിക്കണം.
അതിന്റെ മേദസ്‌സു മുഴുവനുമെടുത്ത്‌ ബലിപീഠത്തില്‍വച്ചു ദഹിപ്പിക്കണം.
പാപപരിഹാരബലിക്കുള്ള കാളക്കുട്ടിയെയെന്നപോലെ ഈ കാളക്കുട്ടിയെയും ദഹിപ്പിക്കണം. അങ്ങനെ അവര്‍ക്കുവേണ്ടി പുരോഹിതന്‍ പാപപരിഹാരം ചെയ്യണം. അപ്പോള്‍ അവരുടെ കുറ്റം ക്‌ഷമിക്കപ്പെടും.
അനന്തരം കാളയെ കൂടാരത്തിനു വെളിയില്‍ കൊണ്ടുപോയി ആദ്യത്തെ കാളയെ ദഹിപ്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ദഹിപ്പിക്കണം. ഇത്‌ സമൂഹത്തിനുവേണ്ടിയുള്ള പാപപരിഹാര ബലിയാണ്‌.

ദാനി 9 : 1-9
ദാനിയേല്‍ പ്രവാചകന്റെ പുസ്തകത്തിൽ നിന്നുള്ള വായന
അഹസ്വേരൂസിന്റെ മകനും, ജനനം കൊണ്ടു മേദിയക്കാരനും, കല്‍ദായരുടെ ദേശത്തു രാജാവുമായിരുന്ന ദാരിയൂസിന്റെ ഒന്നാം ഭരണവര്‍ഷം. അവന്റെ വാഴ്‌ചയുടെ ഒന്നാം വര്‍ഷം ദാനിയേലായ ഞാന്‍, ജറെമിയാ പ്രവാചകന്‌ കര്‍ത്താവില്‍ നിന്നുണ്ടായ അരുളപ്പാടനുസരിച്ച്‌ ജറുസലെം നിര്‍ജനമായിക്കിടക്കേണ്ട എഴുപതു വര്‍ഷങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ച്‌, വിശുദ്‌ധലിഖിതങ്ങളില്‍ വായിക്കുകയും അതിനെപ്പറ്റി ചിന്തിക്കുകയും ചെയ്‌തു. അപ്പോള്‍, ഞാന്‍ ചാക്കുടുത്ത്‌, ചാരംപൂശി, ഉപവസിച്ച്‌, ദൈവമായ കര്‍ത്താവിനോടു തീക്‌ഷ്‌ണമായി പ്രാര്‍ഥിച്ചു. ദൈവമായ കര്‍ത്താവിനോടു ഞാന്‍ പ്രാര്‍ഥിക്കുകയും ഏറ്റുപറയുകയും ചെയ്‌തു: കര്‍ത്താവേ, അങ്ങയെ സ്‌നേഹിക്കുകയും അങ്ങയുടെ കല്‍പനകള്‍ പാലിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവരുമായി ഉടമ്പടി പാലിക്കുകയും അവരെ നിത്യമായി സ്‌നേഹിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന ഉന്നതനും ഭീതിദനുമായ ദൈവമേ,
ഞങ്ങള്‍ അങ്ങയുടെ കല്‍പനകളിലും ചട്ടങ്ങളിലുംനിന്ന്‌ അകന്ന്‌, അകൃത്യങ്ങളും അപരാധങ്ങളും ചെയ്യുകയും ദുഷ്‌ടതയോടെ വര്‍ത്തിക്കുകയും അങ്ങയെ ധിക്കരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്‌തു. ഞങ്ങളുടെ രാജാക്കന്‍മാരോടും പ്രഭുക്കന്‍മാരോടും പിതാക്കന്‍മാരോടും ദേശത്തെ ജനത്തോടും അങ്ങയുടെ നാമത്തില്‍ സംസാരിച്ച അങ്ങയുടെ ദാസന്‍മാരായ പ്രവാചകരുടെ വാക്കു ഞങ്ങള്‍ ചെവിക്കൊണ്ടില്ല.
കര്‍ത്താവേ, നീതി അങ്ങയുടേതാണ്‌. എന്നാല്‍, ഞങ്ങളുടെ മുഖത്ത്‌ അങ്ങേക്കെതിരേ ചെയ്‌ത വഞ്ചനനിമിത്തം, അങ്ങ്‌ വിവിധ ദേശങ്ങളില്‍ ചിതറിച്ചു കളഞ്ഞ യൂദായിലെയും ജറുസലെമിലെയും നിവാസികളുടെയും, സമീപസ്‌ഥരും ദൂരസ്‌ഥരുമായ ഇസ്രായേല്‍ ജനത്തിന്റെയും മുഖത്ത്‌, ഇന്നു കാണപ്പെടുന്നതുപോലെ, ലജ്‌ജയാണ്‌ നിഴലിക്കുന്നത്‌.
കര്‍ത്താവേ, അങ്ങേക്കെതിരേ പാപം ചെയ്‌തതിനാല്‍ ഞങ്ങളും ഞങ്ങളുടെ രാജാക്കന്‍മാരും പ്രഭുക്കന്‍മാരും പിതാക്കന്‍മാരും ലജ്‌ജിതരാണ്‌. ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ കര്‍ത്താവേ, കാരുണ്യവും പാപമോചനവും അങ്ങയുടേതാണ്‌; എന്നാല്‍, ഞങ്ങള്‍ അങ്ങയോടു മത്‌സരിച്ചു.

വിശുദ്ധ പൗലോസ് ശ്ലീഹാ കൊളോസോസ്സുകാ ർക്കെഴുതിയ ലേഖനത്തിൽ നിന്നുള്ള വായന
പ്രകാശത്തില്‍ വിശുദ്‌ധരോടൊപ്പം പങ്കുചേരാനുള്ള അവകാശത്തിനു നമ്മെ യോഗ്യരാക്കിയ പിതാവിനു കൃതജ്‌ഞതയര്‍പ്പിക്കുവിന്‍. അന്‌ധകാരത്തിന്റെ ആധിപത്യത്തില്‍നിന്ന്‌ അവിടുന്നു നമ്മെ വിമോചിപ്പിച്ചു. അവിടുത്തെ പ്രിയപുത്രന്റെ രാജ്യത്തിലേക്കു നമ്മെ ആനയിക്കുകയും ചെയ്‌തു. അവനിലാണല്ലോ നമുക്കു രക്‌ഷയും പാപമോചനവും ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്‌. അവന്‍ അദൃശ്യനായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പ്രതിരൂപവും എല്ലാ സൃഷ്‌ടികള്‍ക്കും മുമ്പുള്ള ആദ്യജാതനുമാണ്‌. കാരണം, അവനില്‍ സ്വര്‍ഗത്തിലും ഭൂമിയിലുമുള്ള ദൃശ്യവും അദൃശ്യവുമായ എല്ലാ വസ്‌തുക്കളും സൃഷ്‌ടിക്കപ്പെട്ടു. സിംഹാസനങ്ങളോ ആധിപത്യങ്ങളോ ശക്‌തികളോ അധികാരങ്ങളോ എന്തുമാകട്ടെ, എല്ലാം അവനിലൂടെയും അവനുവേണ്ടിയുമാണ്‌ സൃഷ്‌ടിക്കപ്പെട്ടത്‌. അവനാണ്‌ എല്ലാറ്റിനും മുമ്പുള്ളവന്‍; അവനില്‍ സമസ്‌തവും സ്‌ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു. അവന്‍ സഭയാകുന്ന ശരീരത്തിന്റെ ശിരസ്‌സാണ്‌. അവന്‍ എല്ലാറ്റിന്റെയും ആരംഭവും മരിച്ചവരില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള ആദ്യജാതനുമാണ്‌. ഇങ്ങനെ എല്ലാകാര്യങ്ങളിലും അവന്‍ പ്രഥമസ്‌ഥാനീയനായി.
എന്തെന്നാല്‍, അവനില്‍ സര്‍വ സമ്പൂര്‍ണതയും നിവസിക്കണമെന്നു ദൈവം തിരുമനസ്‌സായി.

മര്‍ക്കോ 2 : 1-12
വിശുദ്ധ മര്‍ക്കോസ്‌ അറിയിച്ച നമ്മുടെ കർത്താവീശോമിശിഹായുടെ പരിശുദ്ധ സുവിശേഷം
കുറെ ദിവസങ്ങള്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞ്‌, ഈശോ കഫര്‍ണാമില്‍ തിരിച്ചെത്തിയപ്പോള്‍, അവന്‍ വീട്ടിലുണ്ട്‌ എന്ന വാര്‍ത്ത പ്രചരിച്ചു. വാതില്‍ക്കല്‍ പോലും നില്‍ക്കാന്‍ സ്‌ഥലം തികയാത്തവിധം നിരവധിയാളുകള്‍ അവിടെക്കൂടി. അവന്‍ അവരോടു വചനം പ്രസംഗിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു. അപ്പോള്‍, നാലുപേര്‍ ഒരു തളര്‍വാതരോഗിയെ എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടുവന്നു. ജനക്കൂട്ടം നിമിത്തം അവന്റെ അടുത്തെത്താന്‍ അവര്‍ക്കു കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല. അതിനാല്‍, അവന്‍ ഇരുന്ന സ്‌ഥലത്തിന്റെ മേല്‍ക്കൂര പൊളിച്ച്‌, തളര്‍വാതരോഗിയെ അവര്‍ കിടക്കയോടെ താഴോട്ടിറക്കി.
അവരുടെ വിശ്വാസം കണ്ട്‌ ഈശോ തളര്‍വാതരോഗിയോടു പറഞ്ഞു: മകനേ, നിന്റെ പാപങ്ങള്‍ ക്ഷമിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. നിയമജ്‌ഞരില്‍ ചിലര്‍ അവിടെ ഇരിപ്പുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവര്‍ ചിന്തിച്ചു: എന്തുകൊണ്ടാണ്‌ ഇവന്‍ ഇപ്രകാരം സംസാരിക്കുന്നത്‌? ഇവന്‍ ദൈവദൂഷണം പറയുന്നു. ദൈവത്തിനല്ലാതെ മറ്റാര്‍ക്കാണ്‌ പാപം ക്ഷമിക്കാന് സാധിക്കുക? അവര്‍ ഇപ്രകാരം വിചാരിക്കുന്നുവെന്നു മനസ്‌സിലാക്കി ഈശോ അവരോടു ചോദിച്ചു. എന്തുകൊണ്ടാണു നിങ്ങള്‍ ഇങ്ങനെ ചിന്തിക്കുന്നത്‌?
ഏതാണ്‌ എളുപ്പം? തളര്‍വാതരോഗിയോട്‌ നിന്റെ പാപങ്ങള്‍ ക്ഷമിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറയുന്നതോ എഴുന്നേറ്റു നിന്റെ കിടക്കയുമെടുത്തു നടക്കുക എന്നു പറയുന്നതോ? എന്നാല്‍, ഭൂമിയില്‍ പാപങ്ങള്‍ ക്ഷമിക്കാന് മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്‌ അധികാരമുണ്ടെന്നു നിങ്ങള്‍ അറിയേണ്ടതിന്‌ – അവന്‍ തളര്‍വാതരോഗിയോടു പറഞ്ഞു: ഞാന്‍ നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നു, എഴുന്നേറ്റ്‌ നിന്റെ കിടക്കയുമെടുത്ത്‌, വീട്ടിലേക്കു പോവുക. തത്‌ക്‌ഷണം അവന്‍ എഴുന്നേറ്റ്‌, കിടക്കയുമെടുത്ത്‌, എല്ലാവരും കാണ്‍കെ പുറത്തേക്കു പോയി.
എല്ലാവരും വിസ്‌മയിച്ചു. ഇതുപോലൊന്ന്‌ ഞങ്ങള്‍ ഒരിക്കലും കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ്‌ അവര്‍ ദൈവത്തെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തി.

Lev 4 : 13-21
A Reading from the Book of Leviticus
If the whole community of Israel errs inadvertently and without even being aware of it violates any of the LORD’s prohibitions, and thus are guilty, when the wrong that was committed becomes known, the community shall offer a bull of the herd as a purification offering. They shall bring it before the tent of meeting. The elders of the community shall lay their hands on the bull’s head before the LORD. When the bull has been slaughtered before the LORD, the anointed priest shall bring some of its blood into the tent of meeting, and dipping his finger in the blood, he shall sprinkle it seven times before the LORD, toward the veil. He shall also put some of the blood on the horns of the altar which is before the LORD in the tent of meeting. The rest of the blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar for burnt offerings which is at the entrance of the tent of meeting. He shall remove all of its fat and burn it on the altar, doing with this bull just as he did with the other bull of the purification offering; he will do the same thing. Thus the priest shall make atonementf on their behalf, that they may be forgiven. This bull shall also be brought outside the camp and burned,g just as the first bull. It is a purification offering for the assembly.

It was the first year that Darius, son of Ahasuerus, of the race of the Medes, reigned over the kingdom of the Chaldeans; in the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, perceived in the books the number of years the LORD had decreed to the prophet Jeremiah: Jerusalem was to lie in ruins for seventy years. I turned to the Lord God, to seek help, in prayer and petition, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes. I prayed to the LORD, my God, and confessed, “Ah, Lord, great and awesome God, you who keep your covenant and show mercy toward those who love you and keep your commandments and your precepts! We have sinned, been wicked and done evil; we have rebelled and turned from your commandments and your laws. We have not obeyed your servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to our kings, our princes, our ancestors, and all the people of the land. Justice, O Lord, is on your side; we are shamefaced even to this day: the men of Judah, the residents of Jerusalem, and all Israel, near and far, in all the lands to which you have scattered them because of their treachery toward you. O LORD, we are ashamed, like our kings, our princes, and our ancestors, for having sinned against you. But to the Lord, our God, belong compassion and forgiveness, though we rebelled against him.

When Jesus returned to Capernauma after some days, it became known that he was at home. Many gathered together so that there was no longer room for them, not even around the door, and he preached the word to them. They came bringing to him a paralytic carried by four men. Unable to get near Jesus because of the crowd, they opened up the roof above him. After they had broken through, they let down the mat on which the paralytic was lying. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Child, your sins are forgiven.” Now some of the scribes were sitting there asking themselves, “Why does this man speak that way? He is blaspheming. Who but God alone can forgive sins?” Jesus immediately knew in his mind what they were thinking to themselves, so he said, “Why are you thinking such things in your hearts?
