Friday’s Prayer to Our Mother Mary

O Mary,

you are the most noble, highest, purest, and most beautiful creature of God—

the holiest of all His creation.

If only everyone knew you and loved you as you deserve, my Queen!

Yet I find comfort in knowing that there are blessed souls in heaven

and faithful people on earth who truly love you.

Above all, I rejoice that God Himself loves you more

than all people and angels together.

I too, O loving Queen,

though I am a sinner, dare to love you.

My love is small—how I wish it were greater and more tender!

Please obtain for me a deeper love for you,

because loving you is a sign of God’s grace

and a gift given to those who will be saved.

And when I think of all I owe your Son,

I see that He deserves from me an immeasurable love.

You who desire nothing more than to see Jesus loved, pray that I may receive this grace—

a great love for Jesus Christ.

Obtain it for me, you who obtain all that you ask.

I do not seek earthly goods, honors, or riches,

but only what your own heart desires most:

to love God alone.

Will you not help me in this desire that is so pleasing to you?

No—it is impossible that you would refuse me.

Even now I feel your help; even now you are praying for me.

Pray for me, Mary—never stop praying for me

until you see me safely in heaven,

where I will love God and you, my dearest Mother,

forever and ever.
