“Trading My Sorrows” was a popular praise song of a few years ago, and it had a rather simple chorus: “Yes Lord, yes Lord, yes yes Lord.”
That’s a wonderfully biblical phrase. In Matthew 9:28, when the blind men came to Jesus requesting healing, He asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said, “Yes, Lord.” When Jesus asked His disciples if they understood His parables, they said, “Yes, Lord” (Matthew 13:51). When Jesus spoke to the woman of Canaan who begged Him to help her daughter, she said, “Yes, Lord” (Matthew 15:27).
