Believe me when I say that, contrary to what you might have heard doctrinally ignorant Catholics might say, the Catholic Church does consider itself to be Christian. The Catholic Church was first Christian church and currently makes up 55% of all those in the world who identify as Christian. Now, why am I writing this? My initial reason was that those who deny us as Christians I find irritating. However, since most of these arguments are either based on straw men or else collapse on themselves by self-contradiction, I think it is expedient to clarify what Catholics actually believe.
