ആ വാർത്തയിലേക്ക്…..

The Pope visited Indonesia recently. (Though the largest Muslim country in the world, Indonesia is 10% Christian). Here is what a Muslim journalist wrote.

*HOW DO I, AS A MUSLIM WOMAN, VIEW POPE FRANCIS*

Reportedly, while in Indonesia, Pope Francis did not want to ride in a nice car (Mercedes) and stay in a five-star hotel that had been prepared beforehand. “Just ride in a car that Indonesian people use every day,” he requested.

So he was planned to ride in a regular car (reportedly a Toyota Innova) and stay in a room at the Indonesian Vatican Embassy. He also flew here using a commercial plane and was not in first class.

Even though he is very old (87 years old), his mobility is limited, he often uses a wheelchair. So anyone would understand, if he used all the facilities to be comfortable during the trip and while staying here.

His simplicity amazed me, who is not a Catholic.

I don’t know anything about Catholic theology… but I feel that he doesn’t need to preach verses, because his daily practice is already the best representation of the Bible itself.

Stay healthy, Pope

As the highest Catholic leader, if he wanted to, he would definitely have the authority to take any action, to decide which direction to move the people in.

But with my own awareness, I always choose a good attitude beyond my narrow reasoning, humble, and tolerant. Let alone with people of other religions, the Pope once said to atheists that “being an atheist does not automatically make people go to hell. Catholics do not judge them”.

Wow, how can I not feel peaceful every time I see the Pope.

May this journey bring blessings and peace to all people—Catholics or not.
