On August 6, 1945, during World War II, an atomic bomb was dropped on the town of Hiroshima, Japan, which killed 140,000 people. Just one kilometer away from the site of the blast of the atomic bomb, there was a home which miraculously survived the blast. This home was attached to a church, which was completely destroyed along with everything else.
More amazingly, the eight people who lived in that home miraculously survived the atomic blast. They did not suffer from radiation sickness, nor any form of malady, loss of hearing, or deformation. All this despite being a mere one kilometer away from the nuclear blast.
The eight people who survived were German Jesuit missionaries. They were interviewed numerous times and medically examined. Father Schiffer, one of the missionaries who survived the blast, said that they were interviewed over 200 times by various experts and media, all of whom could not understand how they could have survived the nuclear blast, what was unique about that home, and about the eight priests who lived in that home.
They prayed the rosary every day. In various interviews, Father Schiffer said, We believe that we survived because we were living the message of Fatima. We lived and prayed the rosary daily in that home.
Father Schiffer lived on for another 37 years after the nuclear blast, amazing proof of the power of the Holy Rosary.
