From the garden where You prayed,
And the heavy cross You bore,
Through the darkness and the pain,
Opening wide mercy’s door.
Upon Your hands and feet the nails,
The thorns upon Your brow,
You gave Your life to set us free,
To save us, here and now.
But death could not hold You down,
The stone was rolled away,
You rose in glory, bright and strong,
On that first Easter day.
Thank You, Lord, for sacrifice,
For love that knows no end,
For conquering sin and breaking chains,
Our Saviour, Lord, and Friend.
Now we rejoice with hearts full of praise,
For life has overcome,
Alleluia to the King!
Your victory is won.
