2. Joy: A deep-seated happiness and contentment that transcends circumstances. 

3. Peace: A tranquility of mind and spirit, rooted in trust in God. 

4. Patience: The ability to endure difficulties and the imperfections of others with grace. 

5. Kindness: A gentle and compassionate attitude toward others. 

6. Goodness: A desire to do what is right and avoid evil. 

7. Faithfulness (Faith): Loyalty, steadfastness, and dependability in one’s beliefs and relationships. 

8. Gentleness: Meekness, humility, and a gentle approach to others. 

9. Self-control: Discipline and moderation in one’s actions and desires. 

10. Modesty: Humility and a proper attitude towards oneself and others. 

11. Chastity: Purity and self-control in sexual matters. 

12. Generosity: A willingness to give and share with others. 

Twelve Fruits of the Holy Spirit
  1. സ്നേഹം (Sneham – Love): The unconditional and selfless love that God has for humanity. 
  2. സന്തോഷം (Santhosham – Joy): A deep-seated sense of well-being and gladness, even in difficult times. 
  3. സമാധാനം (Samadanam – Peace): A state of inner tranquility and harmony, not just the absence of conflict. 
  4. ക്ഷമ (Kshama – Patience): The ability to endure hardship and provocation without anger or resentment. 
  5. ദയ (Daya – Kindness): An attitude of compassion and generosity towards others. 
  6. നന്മ (Nanma – Goodness): A commitment to moral excellence and righteousness. 
  7. സൗമ്യത (Saumyatha – Gentleness): A mild and considerate manner, not harsh or domineering. 
  8. മിതത്വം (Mithathwam – Modesty): A humble attitude, not prideful or arrogant. 
  9. ആത്മസംയമനം (Athmasamyamanm – Self-control): The ability to control one’s desires and actions. 
  10. സഹനശക്തി (Sahanashakthi – Meekness): A gentle and submissive spirit, not aggressive or demanding. 
  11. വിശ്വസ്തത (Vishwasthatha – Faithfulness): A steadfast belief in God and His promises. 
  12. ശുദ്ധത (Shudhatha – Chastity): Purity and integrity in thought, word, and deed.

      my question is if I am doing a childrens picture book in English and wud be requesting for an IMPRIMATUR….so…how shud it be written?

      wud it b ok to write KINDNESS/GENEROSITY and the other one as FORBEARANCE?

      OR shud it be definitely written as

      KINDNESS and the next one as

      GENEROSITY

      is it possible for u to consult with other priests (if needed) and then answer?

        There are differences of Opinion among the scholars itself as i have consulted a few. According to one group Kindness and Generosity are distinct and others say they can be put together.           i have some other things also to ask.

          is there an official English equivalent for these prayers below (these are the 3 prayers found in our “vishwasa samkshepam “ book at the end of the 32 prayers in it – without any number):

          a) പുലർകാലജപം

          പിതാവിൻ്റെയും പുത്രൻ്റെയും പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിൻ്റെയും നാമത്തിൽ ആമ്മേൻ

          ഈശോ മറിയം യൗസേപ്പേ, അശുദ്ധമായ കാഴ്ച ഞാൻ കാണാതെയും വിചാരിക്കാതെയും ഇരിക്കുവാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ സങ്കേതത്തിൽ എൻ്റെ കണ്ണുകൾ ഞാൻ തുറക്കുന്നു.

          b) എഴുന്നേൽക്കുമ്പോൾ

          ഈശോമിശിഹായുടെ തിരുനാമത്തിൽ ഞാൻ എഴുന്നേൽക്കുന്നു.

          എൻ്റെ കർത്താവേ! കിടക്കയിൽനിന്ന് എഴുന്നേറ്റതുപോലെ ഞാൻ സകല പാപങ്ങളെയും വിട്ട് എഴുന്നേറ്റു വീണ്ടും പാപത്തിൽ വീഴാതിരിപ്പാൻ എന്നെ അവിടന്നു കാത്തുകൊള്ളണമെ.

          c) ഉടുക്കുമ്പോൾ

          എൻ്റെ കർത്താവേ! ഈ ശരീരം മറപ്പാൻ അങ്ങു വസ്ത്രം തന്നതുപോലെ ആത്മാലങ്കാരത്തിന് അങ്ങേ ഇഷ്ടപ്രസാദം എനിക്കു തന്നരുളേണമേ. ആമ്മേൻ.

            a) Morning Prayer

            In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
            Jesus, Mary, and Joseph,
            I open my eyes within your shelter;
            guard me, that I may neither see nor entertain anything impure.

            b) Upon Rising

            In the holy name of Jesus Christ, I rise from my bed.
            My Lord, as I get up from sleep,
            may I also rise away from every sin,
            and keep me, Lord, from falling into sin again.

            c) While Dressing

            My Lord,
            as You have given me clothing to cover this body,
            grant me also the adornment of Your grace for my soul.
            Amen.

              but just to confirm….is this prayer translated by ur team or is it actually the traditional prayer?

              wud it b ok for me to put this prayer (if it is translated) in one of my books for children?

                Yes, it is a translation. We couldn’t find an exact traditional form in English anywhere. Feel free to use it anywhere for the purpose of prayer. Thank you.

    why is it that “sahanashkthi” missing in the English….

    everywhere in English they have written Generosity instead of this “sahanashakthi”. I think kindness and generosity are one and sahanashakthi which I presume is to be written as forbearance or something.

    is this something that is to be corrected?

    If I am to do a small book how shud this be written?
