Dear brothers and sisters,
We begin this sacred time of retreat by placing ourselves in the presence of God. Let us quiet our hearts and become aware that the Lord is near.
Today, we reflect on a man who never spoke a word in Scripture, yet whose life continues to echo through centuries—Saint Joseph.
He is not a man of the spotlight.
He is not a man of many words.
But he is a man of depth, strength, and obedience.
And perhaps that is exactly why we need him today.
Because we live in a world of:
- Noise without meaning
- Activity without depth
- Words without commitment
Joseph invites us into something deeper—a life rooted in God.
Let us begin with a short prayer:
“St. Joseph, guide us in this time of retreat. Teach us to listen, to trust, and to obey. Lead us closer to Jesus Christ. Amen.”
Part 1: The Power of Silence (10 minutes)
One of the most striking things about Joseph is this:
He never speaks.
In the Gospels of Matthew the Apostle and Luke the Evangelist, there is not a single recorded word from him.
And yet, he is not absent. He is deeply present.

Joseph’s Faith

He does not say:
“God, explain this to me.”

“God, I trust you.”

No delay. No excuses.

- “Let me think about it”
- “I’ll do it tomorrow”
You act immediately.
Joseph treats God’s voice with that urgency.

No miracles.
No recognition.
Just daily life.

Many people think:
- “I will be holy when I do something great”
