Why should Catholics Carry a Mini-Sacramental Kit

WHY SHOULD CATHOLICS CARRY A MINI-SACRAMENTAL KIT

During the ancient times, Roman Catholics would carry with them not only rosaries but also sacramentals like holy water, exorcised-blessed oil, and exorcised-blessed salt. These “Weapons of Light” provide spiritual protection and benefits. Unfortunately, this practice is seldom seen today, even among Catholic youths.

1. Personal Use: Taking a pinch of exorcised-blessed salt can help with frequent nightmares, as recommended by the Church. Holy water can be used to bless loved ones and spiritually seal rooms, creating a fiery wall of protection. Exorcised-blessed oil is a Sign of Anointing, used to create a sacred insignia through the Sign of the Cross.

2. Unwanted Cases: In emergency situations, holy water can be used for baptisms or blessings. Having a mini sacramental kit can be helpful in unexpected situations.

3. Tradition: Carrying sacramentals showcases the rich history and deep value of Catholic traditions. It’s a way to ignite a thought and breath of fresh air in modern times.

4. The Grace: Frequent use of sacramentals is more effective when combined with regular confession and a state of grace. Without making amends to one’s life, the use of sacramentals can be futile.

5. To Influence: This practice can help spread awareness and appreciation of Catholic traditions among youths and the faithful. It can create a new tradition within the circles of the faithful.

It is important to note that it’s essential to use sacramentals properly, viewing them as a gateway to heaven, like the Eucharist, rather than treating them as talismans or anting-anting. By carrying these “Weapons of Light,” Catholics can deepen their faith and connection with the Church.
