{പുലർവെട്ടം 400} പഴയ സൂചിയുടേയും ഒരു പാത്രം ജലത്തിന്റേയും കഥ ആർക്കാണറിയാത്തത്. വാസുകി മരണക്കിടക്കയിലായിരുന്നു. തന്റെ ദുഃഖകാരണം മരണഭീതിയല്ലെന്നും ഉത്തരം കിട്ടാത്ത ഒരു ചോദ്യമാണെന്നും തിരുവള്ളുവരോട് അവൾ ഏറ്റുപറഞ്ഞു. വിവാഹിതയായ നാൾ മുതൽ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കുമ്പോൾ അടുത്തു കരുതിവയ്ക്കണമെന്ന് അയാൾ ശഠിച്ചിരുന്ന ഒരു കോപ്പ ജലത്തിന്റേയും സൂചിയുടേയും പൊരുളെന്താണെന്നാണ് അവൾക്കറിയേണ്ടത്. അതൊരിക്കലും ഉപയോഗിച്ചു കണ്ടിട്ടില്ലെന്നും അവൾ കൂട്ടിച്ചേർത്തു. അയാൾ പറഞ്ഞു: “അന്നം വിളമ്പുമ്പോൾ നിലത്തുവീണേക്കാവുന്ന വറ്റ് കുത്തിയെടുക്കാനായിരുന്നു സൂചി. ജലം അതു കഴുകിയെടുക്കാനും. നിന്റെ ശ്രദ്ധ…
