12 വയസ്സ് മാത്രം പ്രായമുള്ളപ്പോൾ ക്രൂരമായ പീഡനങ്ങൾ ഏറ്റുവാങ്ങി യേശുവിന് വേണ്ടി രക്തസാക്ഷിത്വം വരിച്ച കുഞ്ഞു വിശുദ്ധയാണ് വിശുദ്ധ ആഗ്നസ്. “കന്യകാത്വത്തിന്റെ മഹത്വത്തെ രക്തസാക്ഷിത്വം കൊണ്ട് മകുടം ചൂടിയ വിശുദ്ധ” എന്നാണ് മഹാനായ വിശുദ്ധ ജെറോം ആഗ്നസിനെ വിശേഷിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത്.
