It came out earlier this year about the same time that COVID-19 started to rampage the population here in the U.S. I love this song because its themes are spread throughout the whole Bible. There are so many verses about God making something beautiful out of death and loss and grief, especially in the Psalms and prophetic books in the Bible.

I was really jazzed to read Sam Lucero’s spot on editorial in the November 27, 2020 Compass, “Church teaching oppose executions.“ Sam is News and Information Manager for my home diocese of Green Bay, Wisc. According to Lucero:
Since July 14, 2020, when the Trump administration restarted federal executions, eight people on death row have been executed. As of Nov. 23, five more inmates (including Lisa Montgomery, the only woman on federal death row) are scheduled for execution before president-elect Joe Biden takes the oath of office on Jan. 20, 2021.
Before this year, the federal government executed only three people in the last 50 years, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

Be Happy: Bible Verses on Thanksgiving
I have found this principle to be true: It is not happy people who are thankful—it is thankful people who are happy.
Maybe because I had lived far too much life before I got saved at the age of 21, or maybe because the more I received revelation from God’s Word, the more it opened my heart, but either way… I am a grateful, thankful, person.
And therefore, I’m a very happy person too!
It seems the Holy Spirit inspired the writers of God’s Word with the same understanding. The word eucharist is used in our modern language for Communion, but it is also a Greek word for THANKSGIVING that embodies the highest act of gratitude for the greatest gift received from God: the sacrifice of Jesus.
