Be Filled with the Spirit (Eph 5:18)

1. O my Holy Spirit, come upon my head –

let me be anointed by the oil of your

gladness (Ps 45:7; Ps 23:5; 1Sam 10:1).

2.  O Loving Spirit, dwell on my forehead

– and write the name of Jesus and of the

Father, on my forehead (Rev 14:1).

3. O Spirit of praise, move my lips – allow

them to sing your praises (Ps 51:15) and

when I praise You, may my soul, which

you have redeemed, burst out in gladness

(Ps 71:23).

4. O Living Spirit, remain on my tongue –

it shall sing of your justice and praise day

and night (Ps 35:28) and may my tongue

be thrilled to proclaim Your WORD (Ps

119:172).

5. O all Seeing Spirit, remain on my eyes –

let my eyes be enlightened (Ps 19:8).

6. O Renewing Spirit, dwell on my face –

then the Lord will speak face to face with

me (Dt 5:4) and my face will become

gracious as the Lord’s face shines on it

(Num 6:25).

7. O Spirit, who hears everything (Wis 1:6),

touch my ears – let my ears be wakened

every morning to listen to your Word (Is

50:4).

8. O Sweet Spirit, dwell on my neck – let

my neck wear the necklace of your wisdom (Sir 6:24).

9. O Befriending Spirit, dwell on my chest

– that I may experience the gentle touch of

Jesus on my chest (Jn 13:25).

10. O God’s own Spirit, come into myheart

let my heart be filled with God’s love

(Rom 5:5).

11. O Life-giving Spirit, remain in my

nostrils, breathing and lungs – may I be

made alive by your breath (Gen 2:7) and

may the breathing of the Risen Jesus

transform me (Jn 20:22).

12. O Satiating Spirit, dwell in my stomach

– let my stomach be filled with God’s word,

as I consume them (Eze 3:3; Jer 15:16).

13. O Spirit of Holiness, dwell on my

sexual organs and remain in my sexuality

– may they be made holy (1Thes 4:3-8).

14. O Holy Spirit who activates me, be

active in my hands – that I may experience

the Lord, holding my hands (Ps 37:24).

15. O Spirit of Perfection, dwell on my legs

– may I walk before the Lord in the land of

the living (Ps 116:9) and be made perfect

(Gen 17:1).

16. O Enlightening Spirit, dwell on my feet

– may the Word become a light in my path

(Ps 119:105).

17. O Strengthening Spirit, dwell in my

bones – let them be made alive and may I

know God as the Lord (Eze 37:6).

18. O Spirit, living water gushing forth from the open side of Jesus (Jn 19:34), mix with my blood- and may Jesus’ blood be mixed in mine everyday and may I, through the blood of Jesus, take part in the new covenant (Lk 22:20).

19. O Spirit of Fullness, dwell in my body

completely – may my body be transformed

into your Holy Temple (1Cor 6:19) and may I offer my body as an acceptable

sacrifice to You (Rom 12:1).

20. O Subtle and Pure Spirit, remain in my

intellect let the mystery of Christ be

revealed in my intellect (Eph 3:4).

21. O Thoughtful Spirit, dwell in my

thinking let God’s thoughts be

communicated to me (Prov 1:23) and may

I be enabled to make every thought of

mine, a captive to Jesus (2Cor 10:5).

22. O Empowering Spirit, dwell in my will

– may my will be attuned to God’s will

(Mt 6:10) so that I may be renewed in my

mind and thus learn what is good,

acceptable and perfect before the sight of

God (Rom 12:2) and be clothed in true holiness of the new person created in the

likeness of God (Eph 4:23-24).

23. O Spirit, the Divine Teacher, dwell in

my memory- may Jesus’ words be

inscribed in my memory (Jn 14:26) and

may I be taught what to speak at the right

time, in the right way (Lk 12:12).

24. O All Knowing Spirit, delve into the

inner recesses of my mind, into my sub-

conscious and unconscious mind – so that being purified from within, I may learn to love God with my whole heart, soul and

strength (Dt 6:5).

25. O Spirit, the voice of God, dwell in

my conscience – may I be taught your way

of truth in the single-mindedness of my

conscience (Ps 86:11; Jer 32:39) and may

I become vigilant in conscientiously

observing your commands (Eze 36:27).

26. O Soothing Spirit, dwell in my

emotions – let the wisdom of God, which

is prudent and discerning, guide my

emotions (Prov 8:12).

27. O Penetrating Spirit, dwell in my

intentions – may my intentions be discerned and examined by God’s Word (Heb 4:12).

28. O Spirit of the Lord, become one with

my soul (1Cor 6:17) – may my soul

become the dwelling place of the Most

Holy Trinity (Jn 14:23).

29. O Holy Spirit, Living Flame of Love,

touch and transform the substance of my

soul – so that I may participate in the divine  nature (2Pet 1:4).

30. O Spirit, the bond of divine

relationships, dwell in my personal,

intimate, social and familial relationships

– may my relationships with others be

always holy and may I learn to love others as Jesus loves me (Jn 15:12).

31. O Refreshing Spirit, dwell in my sleep

and in my awakening – may I live with

Jesus when I am awake or asleep (1Thes

5:10).

32. O Energizing Spirit, be active in all my

actions – may I, like Jesus, do always what

is pleasing to the Father (Jn 8:29).

33. O Spirit of Service, remain in my

services – may my services be transformed into fruitful endeavours (2Cor 3:8).

34. O Spirit, who reveals through the Word,

dwell in my proclamation – let the Word

of truth be alive in my preaching (Ps

119:43) and may I courageously proclaim

the mystery of the Gospel (Eph 6:19).

35. O Spirit of Counsel and Knowledge,

dwell in my teaching – through my teaching may I teach others whatever Jesus taught

me (Mt 28:20).

36. O Vivifying Spirit, dwell in my learning

– through you may I be instructed by God,

always (Is 28:26,29).

37. O Spirit, fullness of love, dwell in my

love – may my love be patient, kind, gentle,

avoiding jealousy, complacency, pride,

self-glorification, selfishness, anger and

hatred. May my love be coupled with

rejoicing in truth, suffering, faith, hope and

enduring all things (1Cor 13:4-8).

38. O Healing Spirit, dwell in my

sicknesses – may I be healed by the holy

wounds of Jesus (Is 53:5; 1 Pet 2:24).

39. O Delightful Spirit, dwell in my

sorrows – let them be converted into joys

(Jn 16:20).

40. O Spirit of Joy, dwell in my joys – may

they be complete in the joy that I receive

through the words of Jesus (Jn 15:11)

41. O Praying Spirit, dwell in my prayer –

make me pray calling out “Abba Father”

(Rom 8:15) and pray in me through your

sighs beyond words (Rom 8:26).

42. O Gentle Spirit, dwell in my music –

let there be a new song, a song of praise

for God on my tongue (Ps 40:3).

43. O Eternal Spirit, dwell in my death –

may I be led into eternal life (Jn 11:26)

and may the life of Jesus appear in my body (2Cor 4:10).

44. O Indwelling Spirit, dwell in my house

where I live – may it become the house of

the Father (Jn 2:16) and an abode of prayer (Lk 19:46).

45. O Saving Spirit, dwell in my family –

may my family members be saved through  their faith in Jesus (Acts 16:31).

46. O Spirit, the soul of the Church, dwell

in the Church – that the Church may

become pure and spotless like a bride

prepared for her husband (Rev 21:2).

47. O Creator Spirit, dwell in this universe

– let this universe be filled with your Divine

presence (Wis 1:7).
