Prayer for the Blessing of a Child

(with the intercession of St. Ann, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and St. Joseph)

Heavenly Father,
Source of all life and love,
we come before You with trusting hearts,
longing for the gift of a new child.

Through the loving prayers of St. Ann,
grandmother of Your Son,
who knew the joy of motherhood in her later years,
look kindly upon our desire to nurture new life.

Through the tender intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
Mother most pure and full of grace,
and of St. Joseph, her faithful spouse and protector,
we ask that our home may be blessed
with the cry of new life,
and that we may raise a child
in faith, hope, and love,
bringing glory to Your Holy Name.

Lord, if it be Your will,
grant us the grace to conceive and welcome a healthy baby.
Give us patience and trust as we await Your plan,
and strength to surrender to Your perfect wisdom.

We make this prayer through Jesus Christ,
Your Son, our Lord,
who lives and reigns with You
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, forever and ever.
