Editorial note
There is an important correction to make to the earlier collection: Diary §300 and §699 are sometimes quoted online with different paragraph boundaries or combined wording, and some quotations attributed to Faustina are actually words of Jesus recorded by Faustina. I recommend preserving the distinction:
- [Jesus] — words Faustina records as spoken by Christ.
- [Faustina] — Faustina’s own prayer/reflection.
- [Diary] — a direct quotation from Faustina’s narrative.
The original Diary was written in Polish, and the English edition is a translation; the manuscript history and later editions are discussed by The Divine Mercy.
Also, some of the quotations above are deliberately short excerpts from larger sentences, rather than complete sentences. That is appropriate if your heading is “Short Authentic Quotations”, but I would not label each one “complete quotation.”
