A close companion of Padre Pio, who one day while praying his rosary couldn’t manage to finish it because of tiredness. The next morning after the Mass, he brought himself to the Sacrament of Confession with Padre Pio, who was waiting. In the confessional, he said, Padre, when I say the rosary, I get very tired, but I force myself not to fall asleep.

Then, Padre Pio answered, my son, that is the most beautiful rosary, where there’s greater effort, that’s where there is greater love. From that day onwards, he started to recite many more rosaries. Padre Pio used to carry permanently a rosary in his hands and would pray it many times a day.

To one person, he said, when you get tired of reciting the rosary, rest a bit and restart again.
