The Feast of the Epiphany is about the gift of a revelation that both offers and requires the gift of faith. The Feast of the Epiphany invites us into the mystery of the truth, the truth that we seek to know through reason and science and the truth that we come to know through the gift of faith. One truth, two paths, faith and reason. The Magi, whom we meet in today’s Gospel reading from Matthew are not simply people who have a warm spiritual experience in seeing the Baby Jesus, they are people who follow their path laid out by reason and the science of their contemporary times and this path delivers them to discover the King who is promised to be born in Bethlehem.

“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made,so that people are without excuse.”
You would think with everything that is happening in the world today those who practice wickedness and evil-doing would turn from their wicked ways and embrace our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Many who practice evil-doing profess to be Christians but their lifestyle is contrary to the word of God. When I lost my dad this year I felt like someone had stuck a dagger in my chest but I didn’t die, I just had to live with the pain of it being there. You would think because I was grieving those around me would be sympathetic and merciful and yes there were some genuine God-fearing Christians who were loving and compassionate but for some, it was an…

“Things just happen in the right way, at the right time. At least they do when you let them, when you work with circumstances instead of saying, ‘This isn’t supposed to be happening this way,’ and trying hard to make it happen some other way. If you’re in tune with The Way Things Work, then they work the way they need to, no matter what you may think about it at the time. Later on, you can look back and say, ‘Oh, now I understand. That had to happen so that those could happen, and those had to happen in order for this to happen. . . .” Then you realize that even if you’d tried to make it all turn out perfectly, you couldn’t have done better, and if you’d really tried, you would have made a mess of the whole thing.” — Benjamin Hoff
The Bible begins and ends by describing an untainted world that is filled with lightbut no sun and shows God as the source of light, it was fitting that Jesus called himself the light, saying “I am the light of the world.”And he would continue by saying, “Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12). It was an audacious claim because as Jesus spoke these words he was standing in the temple treasury by the massive extinguished torches that had burned that very night in the ceremony of the Illumination of the Temple, which celebrated the Shekinah glory that led Israel for forty years in the wilderness. It was a solemn declaration of his divinity as “the light of the world.”
This divine-light declaration ultimately identified Him with the giver of light in Genesis 1. Indeed Revelation…

Around this time each year I am scheduled for my annual eye exam. I’m not expecting any big changes from last year’s prescription. The big change has happened since I arrived in Waynesboro when my eye doctor suggested I consider getting bifocals. But that can’t be, I said. I’m not … which was when it dawned on me in all likelihood I was in fact whatever it was I thought I was not just a moment earlier. So I paused to take it in. I asked if I had other options. I don’t recall the conversation that followed, but I guess it was perfectly fine to just stay the course since the only significant change to date is that I now wear reading glasses. Still that doesn’t mean my choice was the best of all my options. It was just what I was then willing to…

A few sects, such as Jehovah’s Witnesses, Christadelphians, and Thomas Jefferson deny the divinity of Christ. Beliefs concerning Who He is, if not God, differ a fair deal. Some say He is an incarnate angel akin to Gandalf, others an exulted human being like Anakin Skywalker (sans the Darth Vader element), and still others a great moral teacher like Socrates. I cannot think of any characters to which I might liken the Nicene understanding of Jesus. Probably this is because God becoming man is unique to Nicene Christianity.
My goal is to show His divinity, the doctrine which is central to…

Hello guys, what’s up? Hope you all are doing good and well wherever you are in this world. Happy New Year, just this embrace the moment and try to create memory from it. 2021, definitely going to be ours, at last the digit behind 20 is also in increasing manner then how can we downgrade ourselves, right? It’s the time to start from scratch, just forget what had happened to you in 2020, convinced yourself to move ahead in your life. We all had perpetual succession, if someone dies, then someone also took birth, therefore it’s almost nullify effect. No regret at all, just a hope to do good, for good. Just carried forward all your resolutions to this year with little bit upgradation in it. Never Expect too much from life, Just Accept what it feels to live the life as it is.
Following are some points I noted…

The First Letter of John tells us the way to test the spirit working in us. John puts it simply. If the spirit working in us acknowledges Jesus Christ, then, the spirit belongs to God. However, if the spirit working in us denies or rejects Jesus Christ, then, it does not belong to God but to the antichrist, the evil one.
Why is it very important? John warns us. He said, “Beloved, do not trust every spirit.” There are indeed spirits that deceive us. The evil one is a master of deceit and lies. When we are lonely and depressed, in need of help, the evil…

When you have no one else to turn to, remember you have God! And even if you have someone else to turn to, I pray, that you choose to turn to God first. Like a shepherd caring for his flock is how God cares for you. “He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young.” – Isaiah 40:11. God is gentle, kind, and loving. In His great love for you, He will carry you and gently lead you. Trust Him.
God cares, protects, redeems, and guides like a shepherd does to his flock. I remember the gracious and loving words of God to His people, Israel, even when they have grievously sinned against Him. “Hear the word of the LORD, O nations, and declare it in the coastlands…

Awaiting Expectations: Remember when you were little, and you were wishing for something you really wanted? The anticipation and expectation were so real, and it seemed, prolonged. Remember when you got what you wished for? I was about 8 or 9 years old and wished for a “walking doll” for Christmas. It had straight legs that could walk… I would have to walk it, one foot and leg forward then the other foot and leg forward. I wished and wished Santa would bring it to me. On Christmas morning, I flew downstairs and ran to my one gift and opened it, and there she was, my walking doll! What joy I felt to finally get it!
I remember some other times growing up that I wanted somethingvery much and when I got it, that feeling of happiness washed over me.I would give hugs and big kisses to my parents for getting…

Each year at Epiphany, I listen to James Taylor’s song Home by Another Way. In this song, he reminds us that the call to the Magi to change their plans finds resonance in our own lives today. He sings:
“Maybe me and you can be wise guys too
And go home by another way.”
At this time in my history, I am more aware than ever of what it means to have my plans disrupted and have to choose another path to my destination. Living through a pandemic has provided most of humanity with this experience and its accompanying lessons.
Lucky for me, I had good training in this regard from my father. Dad was a road superintendent in rural Ontario for much of his life. This was a perfect job for him as he loved driving hither and yon and observing the landscapes. There were always stories to…

All good things must come to an end. After more than 26 years as an independent publisher I have decided to retire. My publishing business officially closed on 1st January 2021. My decision was not an easy one, but one which I have been considering for some time now. While I had hoped to continue publishing for a few more years, circumstances beyond my control have forced me to do otherwise.
In anticipation of my retirement and plans to move back to England, I began downsizing my business back in 2016, when I turned 60. I stopped selling other publishers books, I ceased publishing books by new authors, I stopped importing books in bulk from Russia, then I closed down my Royal Russia web site, and focused on publications on the life and reign of Emperor Nicholas II.
These measures, saw…

Matthew 2:1-12; Solemnity of the Epiphany
If you’ve played Star Wars: Squadrons, a space combat game, you might wonder about navigation in the Star Wars universe. GPS will not work. You can waze your way only if your destination is here on earth. If you’re going to some galaxy far, far away, you will need to follow the stars.
On a deeper level, we do still follow stars here on earth. We allow these lights to guide our actions, shape our thoughts and feelings, and affect the heading of our lives. These lights can be people, ideas or teachings, images and icons, or even objects of desire.
Some of these stars are pretty and bright but fake. And willingly or blindly, we follow them because, well, they are reachable, we feel good and secure, and they reinforce what we want to believe. Other lights feed on our inordinate fixation with…
