Traditions are to be kept in light of honoring God. Not all traditions, no matter how religious they seem, are pleasing to God. The question that should rule every act is “Is this pleasing to God?” When a tradition overrules God’s commands, it can never give the honor or the glory that is due to God. It is like a delicious-looking fruit with a rotten flesh inside. Attractive on the outside but useless in the inside. Such is a tradition meant for the sake of going through a religious practice but not really rooted from a desire to honor God.
