His Eminence Mor Nicodemus Daoud Sharaf, the Syriac Orthodox bishop, received this day at the headquarters of the Nineveh Investigation Court, which is competent to hear the venerable cases of terrorism in Tilkayf, 23 Syriac manuscripts were stolen at the time of the fall of the beloved Mosul at the hands of the criminal Islamic State (ISIS). The Syriac manuscripts represent a great scientific and human heritage. These Syriac manuscripts belong to the Al-Tahira Internal Church (the Citadel) and are part of a large number of Syriac manuscripts that were stolen. Praise be to God, today this number of Syriac manuscripts has returned to the arms of the Church and the dear Syriac Diocese of Mosul.His Eminence highly appreciates the tremendous efforts made by the security forces and the distinguished judges in the court, thanking them for their dedication to work to restore the right to its owners.
