Father Pegues concludes his discussion of the human powers by elaborating upon the intellective faculties of reason and will. The chief power of knowing in man is his reason, his intellect. Reasoning is an act proper to man because, of all the animals, “man alone is able to reason, or has need of reasoning.” It … Continue reading Of Human Mind and Will | SaintlySages
Father Pegues discusses the ultimate object of human happiness, man’s greatest good and final end, as presented by St. Thomas Aquinas in his Treatise on the Last End (Summa Theologica I-II, 1-5). Father Pegues writes: “Man under the higher action of God and dependently upon this action, can fix for himself the end for which … Continue reading The Object of Human Happiness | SaintlySages

“You Are Such a Strong Woman“
I still remember our long flight to Austria and walking off the airplane in Vienna.
We had spent the summer of a lifetime with friends who had slowly become family over the course of the five years of my husband’s graduate studies in theology. Unlike most of our friends, who were transitioning into traditional academic jobs, my husband and I felt called to continue on our graduate school journey and move our family to the International Theological Institute (ITI) in Austria. My husband earned a licentiate degree (with a focus in marriage and family studies) and gained some international teaching experience, while I tended to the children and took some graduate courses of my own. Before we made the big move at the end of the summer, we gave away everything…

Tomorrow is the 4th Sunday in Advent and the holy Apostle encourages us to “rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say, rejoice, because the Lord is near!” (Phil.4,4-5b). The Old Testament lesson takes us a long way back – reminding us that this joy in the Lord is not a new thing or something only to start somewhere far off in the future, but has accompanied His people from the beginning.
The Lord appeared to Abraham by the oaks of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance to his tent during the hottest time of the day. Abraham looked up and saw three men standing across from him. When he saw them he ran from the entrance of the tent to meet them and bowed low to the ground. He said, “My lord, if I have found favor in your sight, do not pass by and leave your servant.

It has been 8 years with WordPress and am thankful to WP for providing me a great platform and the best followers to cheer me up!
The chill with the winter is here, the holidays are back
time to go on a shopping spree and what would you like
now that good old Christmas is here, make a choice
would you buy a red robe, collar and cuffs this time
and indulge in presents for many a kid on the street
to whom Santa is a dream that you would like to fulfill?
This is a nice last minute addition to your holiday get together and seriously the best Peanut Butter Fudge I have ever had! There are only four ingredients and it can be made in just a few minutes but it looks and tastes like it took forever!

Then Mary said, “Here am I, the servant of the Lord; let it be with me according to your word.”
Think back for a moment to a year ago, back to late December of 2019. Do you remember what your plans were for 2020? Your hopes and dreams for 2020? I think that it is safe to say that 2020 did not go as planned for any of you, or most likely for anyone on this Earth. But then again, when you think about it, when does life really go as planned?
Today, on this last Sunday before Christmas, our focus turns to a young woman whose life definitely did not go as planned. But without these unplanned changes, there would be no Christmas. And that, of course, is Mary. And this young lady, from a small town in the Middle East, has much to teach us about…

Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear.Psalms 58:4
PRE-AMBLE by Robert
This article was brought about by the current world events displayed as part of the political scene. This may surprise many, it was revealed in Psalms 58:3. The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they are born, speaking lies.
In this release, information challenging many to the very core of their being will be revealed. It will show, a sinful state is a state of alienation from a relationship with God and service of him, which we were made for.
Matthew Henry (1662-1774) states, “Let none wonder, these wicked men, dare do such things. For wickedness is bred in the bone with them, they brought it into the world with them. They have in their natures a strong inclination…

Its no secret that everybody loves the despicable rogue’s gallery of Disney Villains each popular in their own right and guess what they made a direct-to-video movie about them from the hit animated series “House of Mouse”, which I would personally consider to be my fan favorite since the chilling trailer and its also set on Halloween as an added bonus! In MICKEY’S HOUSE OF VILLAINS, the best meet the baddest when Mickey Mouse comes face-to-face with the Disney villains everyone loves to hate for a night of mischief and mayhem that is sure to leave you laughing. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Pluto and Goofy have their hands full when the wicked Jafar teams up with Cruella, Hades, Ursula, Captain Hook, Maleficent and all of the other dastardly villains in a wild attempt to turn the House of Mouse into the House of Villains. These scene-stealing villains stage…

We all have things we are addicted to in life. But one thing us bloggers have in common is that we are all probably addicted blogging. Whether we realise it or not. Well, hate to say it folks, you probably are! Don’t worry though, this is a safe space for you to admit it. We’re … Continue reading 7 Signs You’re Addicted to Blogging – Olivia Lucie Blake
There’s a song from Fiddler on the Roof that speaks of sunrises and sunsets and how swiftly flow the days. It’s a beautiful song, a thoughtful one, and one that I’ve been singing as I’ve painted.
Recently I posted a sunrise painting that I completed as part of a lesson series at The Virtual Instructor, and today I’m sharing another. This painting is from my 31-day index card landscape project:
Once again I’ve found it all but impossible to get a good photo of this little 3 x 5 landscape painting, I think it’s probably my favorite so far, primarily because I was able to show the sun on the horizon. But is this really a sunrise? Or is it a sunset?
That same question came up during our “live lesson” series at The Virtual Instructor. We were, indeed, painting a sunrise — the instructor had taken the reference photo…

I definitely think there is a pressure to achieve certain goals within a specific age range nowadays regardless of your situation and whether or not you have those goals in mind. I personally don’t think there is a time limit for any goals, some people are able to accomplish their goals early and some later on. Life isn’t a competition and every individual goes at their own pace. In today’s post, I wanted to share with you 5 goals you shouldn’t overstress or over worry about in your twenties or in your life in general.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying those goals aren’t important. I’m only saying that you shouldn’t let those goals control and dictate the way you live your life. If those goals don’t make you happy then you shouldn’t achieve them to make another person happy or to fit into society. In addition, you…

“Self-sabotage is when we say we want something and then go about making sure it doesn’t happen.”
I haven’t related to any other quote in a long time more than the one above. To give you a little background, I have a tendency to plan huge goals for myself. get excited about it, be motivated by it, plan detailed schedules around it, YET, not work on it! Sounds absurd right? I managed to break this toxic pattern 2 years back during my weight loss journey. I had to force myself to take each day as it comes and work on my goals everyday. That immensely helped me achieve my weight loss target.
For the past couple of weeks, I have noticed a resurgence of this toxic pattern and it’s not pretty. I had scheduled a long run today, woke up at the designated time, had kept…

Gabrielle of InsanityBytes can be sweet (see her post “God Is Greater Than Our Heart“) or scathing. I don’t always agree with her, but I always appreciate her intelligence and wit. This post alerted me to the official Vatican Nativity Scene of 2020. And it’s, well, let’s just say no one, including Catholics, is sure just what it is.
A dystopian sci/fi creche? Let’s have a laugh, shall we? I am not usually an art critic (who am I kidding, of course I am, especially public displays that are just all new-fangled and beyond comprehension.) I’m also not one of those, “the end is nigh, stock up on spam and ammo” Christians, I’m just saying, if the world were about to end, this display would be a sign, a great indication that something has gone all awry with the human experiment.

Plandemic.. 99% of people survive this “pandemic.” Why are we all walking around with dog mussles on. More people die in car accidents every year. Are we hiding in our houses locked up like caged animals because of car accidents.. No. Time to wake up to the truth.. Corruption is real.. People are making money … Continue reading Plandemic/Scamdemic | DiosRaw
