Lord Jesus

Sacrifice of Jesus Christ

Merry Christmas

” Day after day, O lord of my life, shall I stand before thee face to face. With folded hands, O lord of all worlds, shall I stand before thee face to face.

Under thy great sky in solitude and silence, with humble heart shall I stand before thee face to face.

In this laborious world of thine, tumultuous with toil and with struggle, among hurrying crowds shall I stand before thee face to face.

And when my work shall be done in this world , O kings , alone and speechless shall I stand before thee face to face. ” – Gitanjali by Rabindranath Tagore . 76 No Song .

Vehicular Terrorist or Victim?

Thoughts from Mark "Hat" Rackley

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

FEAST OF THE HOLY FAMILY (Jesus, Mary, Joseph)

Gen. 15:1-6; 21:1-3; Ps. 105:1b-2,3-4,5-6,8-9; Heb. 11:8,11-12,17-19; Luke 2:22-40 (long) atau Luke 2:22,39-40 (short)

After Christmas we celebrate the Feast of the Holy Family. This sequence is not incidental. The Church wants to emphasize the importance of a family for children development. Even the Son of God needs a good family environment. He is not only born as a human, but also as a human who is raised in a family. However, this family from Nazareth is not an ordinary family. The mother is a virgin with the status of a mother. Joseph, the father, is like a mute. Not even once does he open his mouth. Of course he is not mute, instead he is only being obedient to carry out the Father’s plan. The Son is the center of the family. His birth attracts…

But There Will be Christmas This Year – Jun Viray, SJ

One Lost Sheep

John 1:1-18, Christmas Day 2020

There will be no Christmas this year.

For some people there will be no Christmas this year. As St. Oscar Romero puts it bluntly, “The self-sufficient, the proud, those who, because they have everything, look down on others, those who have no need even of God — for them there will be no Christmas…”

There will be no Christmas for those who hoard their riches, who guard jealously their fame, and who wield their power unjustly over others. The glitter and glamorous lights of worldly wealth, honor, and power will outshine the star of Bethlehem. The noise and clatter of worldly allurements will drown out the sound and the song of the angels. With their hardened hearts securely locked from within by these illusions of security and self-sufficiency, they will not welcome the arrival of the heavenly Child. There will be no Christmas for them…

Primitive Bill

eastelmhurst.a.go.go

Bill, having gotten fed up with life,

Moved to a deserted island

In the middle of the ocean.

Having let his boat float away

He began his new life

As a Troglodyte.

Never again would he don

More than animal hides

And plants for clothing.

Never again would he

See anything mass produced.

Daily he would arise,

And nightly fall asleep,

To the sound of

Animal roars and bird chirps.

Often the briny sea would

Show him a miserable memory

As huge white waves crashed

Hideously back and forth.

Would he really be free now?
