The Arab Identity is at the root of Islam. This was the reason for its creation. As nomad and camel-herd peoples conquered Jews and Christian, peoples who had clear identities and common historical ties, a distinct Arab identity had to be created. Abd al Malik, the probable real-life Muhammad, was the first man to begin the process by attacking the Christians who had been dominating the landscape. From the Dome of the Rock to the Caliphs, Arabs began attacking Christianity and Jesus and began creating their own scripture to live on.
