What are the Five First Saturdays?
Our Lady explained those Five First Saturdays to Sr. Lucia dos Santos, one of the Fatima visionaries, on Dec. 10, 1925, in the following way:
See, my daughter, my Heart encircled by thorns with which ungrateful men pierce it at every moment by their blasphemies and ingratitude. Do you, at least, strive to console me. Tell them that I promise to assist at the hour of death with the graces necessary for salvation all those who, in order to make reparation to me, on the First Saturday of five successive months, go to Confession, receive Holy Communion, say five decades of the Rosary, and keep me company for a quarter of an hour, meditating on the fifteen mysteries of the Rosary.

WhyfiveFirst Saturdays in particular? Jesus explained this to Sr. Lucia on May29-30,1930, saying:

The smell of nard is woody, musty, and spicy. If you were alive in the 1980s, you might remember the perfumes called Poison and Obsession. They were rich, earthy scents some of us soaked ourselves in.

I wore Poison in college. In preparing this sermon I googled this perfume and saw it described as “the ultimate weapon of seduction.” I promise I didn’t know this when I was 19.

One day I took a cab from my college to the train station in town. Let me preface this by saying that since childhood I was a chronically shy person, barely able to talk in most situations.

I realize the irony of sharing this information with you from a church pulpit.

🙏🔥🙏 യേശുവിന് ഉന്നതസ്ഥാനം നല്‍കാതെ വരുമ്പോള്‍ ലോകം അപകടസ്ഥിതിയിലാകുന്നു. "അന്ധകാരത്തിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്തിരുന്ന ജനങ്ങൾ വലിയ പ്രകാശം കണ്ടു. മരണത്തിന്റെ മേഖലയിലും നിഴലിലും വസിച്ചിരുന്നവർക്കായി ഒരു ദീപ്തി ഉദയം ചെയ്തു."
