Still on expressive portrait drawings, I stumbled on this monochromatic reference photo on Pinterest (as ever), and after finding it captivating, I decided to give it a try with my graphite pencils.
After some digging, I discovered that the photo is indeed a self-portrait of Cristina Otero, a young Spanish photographer, who captured this using the front camera of a Huawei P10 smartphone, of which she dubbed a Soul Portrait, hence the title of this blogpost in Spanish.
This time, however, I opted for my normal 80-paged Arteza drawing book to recreate this photo, rather than the much smoother Bristol vellum surface paper, as I seek to complete the sketchbook soon enough, amidst hectic school and work schedules.

കൈത്താക്കാലത്തിന്റെ നാലാം ഞായറാഴ്ച്ച പാരമ്പര്യത്തിന്റെയും നിയമങ്ങളുടെയും കുരുക്കിൽപ്പെട്ട് ദൈവത്തെയും ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ കല്പനയായ സ്നേഹത്തെയും മറന്നു ജീവിക്കുന്ന നിയമജ്ഞരെയും ഫരിസേയരെയും തിരുത്തുന്ന ഈശോയെയാണ് സുവിശേഷം അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. മാനുഷിക സാമൂഹിക പാരമ്പര്യങ്ങളല്ല, ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സ്നേഹത്തിന്റെ കല്പനയാണ് മനുഷ്യൻ ജീവിതത്തിൽ സ്വീകരിക്കേണ്ടതെന്നും, ജീവിതത്തിൽ പ്രാവർത്തികമാക്കേണ്ടതെന്നും ഓർമിപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് ഈശോ നമ്മുടെ മുൻപിൽ നിൽക്കുമ്പോൾ അന്നത്തെ ഫരിസേയ- നിയമജ്ഞരെപ്പോലെ നമ്മുടെ ശിരസ്സുകളും കുനിഞ്ഞുപോകുന്നില്ലേയെന്ന് എനിക്ക് ഒരു സംശയം! എന്തായാലും, സർവാധികാരിയും , എല്ലാറ്റിനെയും അടക്കിഭരിക്കുന്ന, കോപിക്കുകയും ഒപ്പം അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന നിയമത്തിന്റെയും പാരമ്പര്യത്തിന്റെയും ഒരു ദൈവത്തെയല്ല ഈശോ നമുക്ക് കാണിച്ചു തരുന്നത്. പഴയനിയമത്തിലെ നിയമങ്ങളുടെയും പാരമ്പര്യത്തിന്റെയും ദൈവമാണത്. സ്നേഹം നിറഞ്ഞ, കാരുണ്യം കാണിക്കുന്ന കൂടെ വസിക്കുന്ന ഒരു ദൈവത്തെയാണ് ഈശോ ലോകത്തിന്റെ മുൻപിൽ വരച്ചു കാട്ടിയത്. ഈ ദൈവത്തെ അറിയുവാനും, ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സ്നേഹം ജീവിതത്തിന്റെ സഹജഭാവമാക്കുവാനുമാണ് ഇന്നത്തെ സുവിശേഷം നമ്മെ ക്ഷണിക്കുന്നത്.
വ്യാഖ്യാനം
ഫരിസേയരുടെയും നിയമജ്ഞരുടെയും ദൈവബോധത്തിന് കടകവിരുദ്ധമായ ദൈവബോധം അവതരിപ്പിച്ച ഈശോയെ എങ്ങനെയും കുടുക്കിലാക്കണമെന്ന് ആഗ്രഹിച്ച ഫരിസേയ-നിയമജ്ഞരാണ് ഈശോയുടെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ കൈകഴുകാതെ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കുന്നതുകണ്ട് ഈശോയ്‌ക്കെതിരെ തിരിയുന്നത്.
ഫരിസേയ-നിയമജ്ഞരെ മുന്നോട്ടുനയിച്ച ശക്തി അവരുടെ മതത്തിന്റെ പാരമ്പര്യങ്ങളായിരുന്നു. അതിസൂക്ഷ്മങ്ങളായ അനുഷ്ടാനങ്ങളുടെ ആകെത്തുകയായിരുന്നു യഹൂദര്‍ക്ക് മതം. 365 വിലക്കുകള്‍, 248 കല്പനകള്‍. അങ്ങനെ 613 നിയമങ്ങളുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ഈ പാരമ്പര്യങ്ങളെ പിന്തുടര്‍ന്നുള്ള ജീവിതവും, നിയമങ്ങളുടെ വള്ളിപുള്ളി തെറ്റാതെയുള്ള അനുഷ്ടാനവും തങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് നിത്യരക്ഷ പ്രദാനം ചെയ്യുമെന്ന് അവര്‍ വിശ്വസിച്ചു…

ബ്രിട്ടിഷ് എഴുത്തുകാരനായ ജോൺ ചുർട്ടൺ കോളിൻസ് സുഹൃത്തുക്കളെക്കുറിച്ച് ഒരിക്കൽ ഇപ്രകാരം എഴുതി :”നമ്മുടെ അഭിവൃദ്ധിയിൽ നമ്മുടെ സുഹൃത്തുക്കൾക്ക് നമ്മളെ അറിയാം, പ്രതികൂല സാഹചര്യങ്ങളിൽ നമുക്കു നമ്മുടെ സുഹൃത്തുക്കളെ അറിയാം.”
സൗഹൃദത്തിലൂടെ സമാധാനപരമായ സംസ്കരം കെട്ടിപ്പടുക്കുന്നതിന് പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന World Friendship Crusade എന്ന സംഘടന 1958 ജൂലൈ 30ന് അന്താരാഷ്ട സൗഹൃദ ദിനമായി പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കണമെന്ന ആശയം മുന്നോട്ടു വച്ചു. പരാഗ്വെക്കാരനായ ഡോ. റാമോൺ ആർട്ടെമിയോ ബ്രാച്ചോ ആയിരുന്നു ഈ സംഘടനയുടെ സ്ഥാപകൻ.
പരാഗ്വേയിലെ പ്യൂർട്ടോ പിനാസ്കോ എന്ന പട്ടണത്തിൽ സുഹൃത്തക്കളോടൊപ്പം 1958 ജൂലൈ ഇരുപതാം തീയതി അത്താഴം കഴിച്ചു സൗഹൃദ ദിനം അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര തലത്തിൽ സംഘടിപ്പിക്കണം എന്ന ആശയം മുന്നോട്ടു വച്ചു. വർണ്ണ ലിംഗ വംശ മത ഭേദമില്ലാതെ മനുഷ്യവർഗത്തിൻ്റെ സൗഹൃദവും കൂട്ടായ്മയും പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കുകയാണ് ലോക സൗഹൃദ ദിനത്തിൻ്റെ ലക്ഷ്യം.
ഐക്യരാഷ്ട്രസഭയുടെ ജനറൽ അസംബ്ലിയാണ് 2011 ഏപ്രിൽ ഇരുപത്തിയേഴാം തീയതി ജൂലൈ 30 അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര സൗഹൃദ ദിനമായി ഔദ്യോഗികമായി അംഗീകരിച്ചത് . ഇന്ത്യ ബംഗ്ലാദേശ് മലേഷ്യ യു എ ഇ അമേരിക്ക എന്നി രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ ഓഗസ്റ്റു മാസത്തിലെ ആദ്യത്തെ ഞായറാഴ്ചയാണ് സൗഹൃദ ദിനമായി ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നത്.
Sharing the human spirit through friendship (മാനവചേതനയുടെ പങ്കുവെപ്പിലൂടെ സൗഹൃദം) എന്നതാണ് ഈ വർഷത്തെ ലോക സൗഹൃദ ദിനത്തിൻ്റെ വിഷയം.
