Mother Teresa’s “Flying Novena” to Our Lady – (Emergency Novena)

Mother Teresa’s “Flying Novena” is also known as her famous “Emergency Novena”. While most novenas are prayed for over a 9-day period, the Flying Novena (Emergency Novena) is intended for urgent matters in which immediate assistance is needed. It consists of praying The Memorare 10 times. The first nine times are for the special intention; the tenth time is in thanksgiving to Our Lady for hearing the intention.

FLYING NOVENA (prayer text)
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known
that any one who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help
or sought thy intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence,
I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother;
to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful;
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in thy mercy, hear and answer me.

Mother Teresa, pray for us. Amen.
